For kids, especially, Independence Day is a memorable day. On this day, we commemorate the independence of our nation, India, from British domination on August 15, 1947. It wasn’t easy to get this independence; many courageous people gave their lives in battle, and as a result, we are now living in a free nation. Let’s consider how we might be excellent citizens by being courteous, working hard, and representing our nation with pride as we celebrate today. Let us treasure our independence and never forget those who made it possible. In school, students have to prepare an Independence Day speech for children to perform on August 15.

Good morning, everyone!

Respected Principal, teachers, and my dear friends,

Today, we are gathered here to celebrate a very special day—our Independence Day! On this day, August 15,  1947, our country, India, became free from British rule. This day is not just about waving our flags and singing patriotic songs; it is about remembering the sacrifices of the brave freedom fighters who fought for our freedom.

People like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Subhas Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, and many others worked tirelessly so that we could live in a free nation. They faced many difficulties and even gave up their lives to ensure that we could live with dignity and pride in our own country.

As children, we may not fully understand the struggles they went through, but we can feel proud and thankful for what they have done. Today, we can go to school, play in the parks, and sleep peacefully at night because of their sacrifices.

Independence Day is also a time to think about our duties towards our country. We should work hard in our studies, respect our elders, and be kind to everyone. By doing these things, we can contribute to making our country even better and stronger.

So, let us celebrate this day with joy and pride. Let us salute our national flag and remember the heroes who made our freedom possible.

Happy Independence Day to everyone!

Jai Hind!
